Authors' Manuscript Checklist

Before sending your paper to the Editor, please make sure that you have assembled all the files and data:

  • Title page includes total number counts of each:

    • authors

    • text file (including references and figure legends)

    • table files - max: 6 tables

    • figures/illustrations files (digital and/or glossy) max: 10 figs

    • permission statements (files and copies)

  • Abstracts: (1) one paragraph - 250 words (2) two-sentence version

  • Keywords: 10 index terms

  • References: enumeration in text and bibliography is accurate and correctly formatted

  • Cover letter and statement detailing any potential conflict of interest, and source of funding

  • Permissions: Enclose statements

    • giving permission for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Web)

    • confirming that informed consent was obtained from patients

Electronic submission:

Conventional submission:

  • If submitting hard copy and disk, please ensure that the disk version and the hardcopy of the manuscript are identical

  • Disk is enclosed and labeled with article details (first author, first words of title), file name(s), media format (e.g., PC, Mac) file format (e.g., Word, LaTeX)

  • Original artwork is enclosed (triplicate copies of high-quality prints)

  • Color figures clearly marked as being intended for color reproduction or to be reproduced in black-and-white
