ISPO Symposium Rescheduled for 2004 in Nice

2004 meeting page

The following letter was sent to Montreal 2003 registrants:

Dear Colleagues:

The ISPO has taken the unprecedented decision of rescheduling the symposium that was planned for Montreal, August 16-19, 2003. The “Call for Abstracts” reached the scientific community during the Spring, and a multitude of events worldwide profoundly impacted the plans of many investigators, effectively diminishing the quality and standards of the present program.

We thank the Canadian agencies for their sponsorship and enthusiastic collaboration and the Chairman of the National Committee, Dr. Simon Sutcliffe, President of the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control. We applaud the members of the Local Committee for their energetic efforts under the leadership of Dr. Eduardo Franco.

We are grateful to the Program Committee for the outstanding program, and to the speakers, members and registrants for their continued support and understanding.

The Program Committee will reschedule the abstracts currently submitted for presentations to the 2004 assembly; similary, candidates for the ISPO Travel Grants will be considered in the 2004 award competition. Registered participants will have the opportunity to personally manage the disposition of registration funds in their individual accounts. Hotel reservations that were made through the Montreal Housing Bureau have been released, automatically, without charge.

We believe this is the most prudent course of action at this time and look forward to working with you.

Yours sincerely,
